Our experienced guides ensure your safety, so that you can enjoy your memorable journey.

When to go?

The optimal periods for climbing, considering weather conditions and avoiding rainfall, are from January to early March and from June to mid-October. During these times, Kilimanjaro experiences a long, dry winter and a lush green season with two rainy periods at each end. December to March are the warmest months, characterized by clear mornings and evenings, with clouds obscuring the summit during the day.

The consistent weather patterns make these periods ideal for climbing. The primary rainy season occurs from early April to June, leading to dense cloud cover over the mountain, reduced visibility, frequent snowstorms on the summit, and heavy rains on the lower slopes. The longest and driest season extends from mid-June to mid-October, but it can get very cold at night during this time.

In Kilimanjaro's "winter," a continuous band of clouds encircles the mountain above the forests and moorlands, leaving a few distant peaks visible above the clouds. Above this cloud layer, the weather is usually clear and dry, making it one of the best times for trekking. By late October, rainfall begins, and until mid-December, the mountain is enveloped in thick clouds, accompanied by persistent showers from the base to the summit.

The recommended months for ascending the mountain are January, February, March, June, July, August, September, and early October. It is advisable to avoid climbing during the heavy rainy season between April and May and the short rains in November if possible.

Kilimanjaro stands as Africa's tallest peak, soaring approximately 4,900 meters from its base and reaching a staggering height of 5,895 meters above sea level. Nestled three degrees south of the equator in northeastern Tanzania, this majestic mountain resides within the confines of Kilimanjaro National Park. Its snow-capped summit enchants visitors with captivating vistas throughout the year.

Ascending Mount Kilimanjaro doesn't demand specialized skills or technical gear; however, climbers must possess physical fitness and training. Despite the challenge, it offers a splendid experience. Climbers must be accompanied by a local guide and will be aided by porters who carry luggage, food, and equipment. Travelers need only carry a day pack containing their essentials, making the ascent a memorable adventure.
